Summer Enrichment Program, Elementary K-6

Summer Enrichment Opportunities, K-6

In order to promote continuous learning and engagement over the summer, the North Penn School District will be offering opportunities for summer enrichment for all elementary students completing grades K-6. These offerings are recommended, but completely optional for students and families. Our goal is to share resources and engaging activities throughout the month of July that are the perfect blend of academics and fun in order to best support continued growth for our students.

This program is designed for students to complete asynchronously, with the engagement of their families. Students will be invited into a class through Canvas, and activities will start to post on Monday, July 3st. New activities will be posted weekly on Mondays throughout the month of July (7/3, 7/10, 7/17, and 7/24). There will be only four weeks of engaging activities to stimulate creativity and encourage students to stay academically charged, however the Canvas course will remain open until August 14th, so families have the flexibility to access the summer learning opportunities when it’s convenient for you!

If you are interested in gaining access to our summer learning Canvas course, please register at the link below by June 19th. You will receive a follow up email no later than June 23th to be invited into Canvas. Should you need support accessing the Canvas course or any resources within the course, please contact North Penn Family Tech at [email protected] (note: please include the underscore).

Learning Opportunities Included

Freckle

Freckle is an online learning platform that allows students to practice English Language Arts at their own level. Freckle continuously adapts to each student’s individual skills, so each student is getting the appropriate challenge, whether they’re working at, above, or below grade level. By registering for our FREE Summer Enrichment program your child will receive access to their Freckle account all summer long. This is an excellent opportunity for your child to get a jumpstart on some of the activities they will do in the fall no matter what the school year will look like. If you're interested in learning more about Freckle, visit their website here.

iReady

This summer, students will continue to have access to their iReady personal pathway and learning games. The learning pathway is unique to each student and will enable them to both learn and growth in all areas of math content. The learning games are fun and interactive while helping students learn and apply math skills. These resources are available on your child's desktop by simply clicking the iReady icon. Learning Choice Boards

Learning choice boards are low or no tech activities, designed and created by our very talented North Penn teachers. They are filled with fun and engaging opportunities for the whole family. For four weeks, a new board of activities will be launched weekly to keep your student focused and engaged in their learning. Care has been taken to support all academic areas, special areas, and social and emotional well-being. By engaging in these exciting activities, your child will have the opportunity to conduct experiments, develop and create designs, learn about their community, and practice age-appropriate literacy skills. There is no expectation for completion. Your child can choose 1 activity or complete them all. Be sure to register using the link above and start having fun!
